THE NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL OF TANZANIA
CALL FOR PAPERS 

The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) invites authors who are involved in assessment and curriculum to submit papers for publication in the NECTA Journal for the year 2018.

The major theme of the Journal:

“PROMOTING INDUSTRIALIZATION IN TANZANIA THROUGH EFFECTIVE AND RELEVANT ASSESSMENTS IN BASIC EDUCATION.’’

Sub-themes:

1. Strategies for increasing numbers of candidates in Technical, Agriculture and Natural science subjects in Tanzania.

2. Raising performances in Mathematics and Natural science subjects in basic education.

3. Assessment benchmarks in Technical and Science subjects competences.

4. Linking assessment and the contemporary world of work.

5. Assessment practices in Language and Social Science Subjects in industrial era.

6. Bridging the gap between assessment and curriculum reform.

Paper structure

The paper should be written in English language and have the following

structure:

1. Title

2. Name of the author, institution, e-mail and mobile phone.

3. Abstract of the paper which should not exceed 250 italicized words.

4. Main paper should have the following structures;

 Introduction/ background of the problem

 Conceptual/theoretical framework

 Literature review

 Research methodology

 Findings/results of the study

 Discussions

 Conclusion and recommendations

 References.

The paper should be written in New Times Roman, Font 12, single space and not exceed 5000 words.

Important Dates

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 31/03/2018

Notification of acceptance of abstracts: 15/04/2018

Deadline for submission of full papers: 31/07/2018
